ITM Monitoring awarded £500k Asset Monitoring Contract for Network Rail Western Route
The geotechnical remote condition monitoring contract for Network Rail’s Western Route will be delivered by ITM, the leading UK monitoring contractor.
Network Rail requires the use of Geotechnical Remote Condition Monitoring (GCRM) to mitigate the safety and performance posed by vulnerable earthworks prior to their renewal.
Monitoring Services Director Nick Slater, leads ITM’s Asset Monitoring division. Nick proposed a unique remote earthworks monitoring system, working closely with sensor manufacturer Findlay Irvine. ITM followed their Asset Fit approach to ensure a fully compliant design across the 9 Network Rail sites covering over 700m of safety critical assets.
Working as a Principle Contractor to Network Rail, ITM have collaborated with the client’s design team to ensure all CDM regulations were met and expectations regarding health and safety exceeded. Pristo Camelo, Scheme Project Manager at Network Rail commented,
ITM are new to the Western Route and have quickly developed a great understanding of the local processes and procedures required when working as Principle Contractor for Network Rail Infrastructure Projects. The design development phase of the scheme was managed as per Network Rail’s requirements and the collaborative working environment ITM foster is a quality Network Rail regard highly.
In addition, ITM are working closely with Dyer and Butler engineers to facilitate site access and protection as well as rope access specialists SAS Rope and Rail.
